Observatorio Mazatlán: 1873

Located on the top of Vigía's Hill at 246 ft above sea level in Mazatlán. The inhabitants of Mazatlán initially built this architectural jewel in a strategic panoramic location to observe enemy ships or pirate ships. At the end of the 19th century, the site became a meteorological and astronomical center, for which it was colloquially known as "The Observatory".
