The new great aquarium of Mazatlán is now open!
What to do in the new Grand Aquarium Mazatlán Mar de Cortés? You will explore a place full of mystery and new things to discover, with an approach that includes education, research, and science outreach. The main tour consists of knowing the 26 habitats, where more than 5 five thousand specimens of 200 different species are.
"This great aquarium is the only one dedicated to the Sea of Cortez, known as the Aquarium of the World thanks to oceanologist Jacques Cousteau. Due to its great beauty and biological richness, the Sea of Cortez was declared a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2015."
The venue has 19 exhibition rooms, 4 interior patios, 3 exterior rooms, and 1 botanical garden where the ecosystems of the region will be exhibited: Earth, Forest, Coast, and Deep Sea, all focused on the richness and beauty of the Sea of Cortez.
